Nascar a sport?

The drivers do stay in shape....but driving a car is not a sport....... Its entertainment....but not a sport

let me put it to u like this way. has any of u ever driven over to bristol race track to see the lights. u remember how bumpy the track is at 5mph or less. then think how it must feel at 130mph. u cant tell me they are not more inshape than any baseball player or football player. so my answer is yes it is a sport.

so does that mean track is not a sport...you are just running around in circles

nascar is a sport...the kind of endurance and strength they have and the physical condition they are in to control a vehicle at 200+ MPH for 500 miles

In track the person is actually doing the running though, in Nascar the car does it.

I used to love Nascar, but I think it's a joke now. Is it a sport? Well, thats for each person to decide, I say no. I think it's a competition just like playing poker, video games, a board game, etc. Anybody can drive a car, not everyone can bench press 400 pounds and tackle a running back who runs a 4.5. For those of you who say well not everyone can drive a car at 200 mph, not everyone can tell when the person sitting in front of them is bluffing in poker either, or try to guess what play somebody is running in a ps2 game.

I guess if driving 200 MPH around a track isn't a sport, swinging a bat at a ball doesn't have much credibility, either.

That's just my opinion.. I mean I personally don't like Nascar myself, but to say that it isn't a sport is quite arrogant, especially when many have died or have been severely injured in it.

War is most definitely a sport, because it's a competition between two or more sides, and one to the death! And there is/are winner(s)! And there is conditioning to prepare for war! Much like there is conditioning to prepare for a sport.

That's my opinion at least.. I don't see how it couldn't be considered a type of sport.
